The Sketchbook Project

This is a sketchbook I created for the Brooklyn Art Library's traveling exhibition called The Sketchbook Project. To learn more about the show, go to www.thesketchbookproject.com
You can see the complete book (33 pages) on facebook, http://www.facebook.com/elka.amorim and at http://arthousecoop.com/users/elkamorim.
Most works are mixed-media collage on paper, where I use everything from color pencils, acrylic, watercolor, ink and graphite. These works will be exhibited in various cities across the States, starting in New York, February 19th, 2011. For a complete list of cities and exhibition dates, go to the Art House Co-op website and look for the Sketchbook Project itinerary map.

This was a little installation I did on top of my coffee table. The Lovers went on to become part of an elaborate game of cards. They are conjoined and forever crippled by their apparent inability to move independently from one another. If separated, the severed half could not bare the absence of her lover, and would surely perish, without legs of her own. Their destiny is unsure.
